Tribute to Rachel Carson

Lecture by Thierry Paquot, philosopher, essayist and biographer of Rachel Carson

Rachel Carson (1907-1964) is world-famous for her book, published sixty years ago,Silent Spring. It denounces the overconsumption of pesticides that destroy ecosystems, endanger the health of the Earth and make many humans sick. This rigorous and implacable investigation will, without harm, result in the prohibition of certain harmful products. She still alerts us to what threatens our planet, while inviting us to admire the beauty of the world, which enchants our existence.
