Petadou World Championship

🎤Animated by Richard Cairaschi

Close to the pignata, topina, brametoupi, the Petadou is a friction drum.
It consists of a tense wet skin or fabric. In the center of this skin is fixed a bone rod which is rubbed with the hand, held wet by a cloth imbibed with water.

The sound emitted by the petadou may vary from height and power, and may suggest a mugissement, to a fart, a shrew, or a râle.

This instrument is to execute the charivari.
