The name of the group is inspired by white hair in lace call "Caireu" that the young girls wore on the head the days of parties above their red hats.

The costume of dancers and dancers was designed in 1948 by the curator of the Masséna Museum in Nice,
Gustave Adolphe Mossa, based on engravings of the 13th century.
