When the sea speaks to us. Study and protect the underwater heritage.

A major exhibition on the underwater archaeology of the French Riviera, in partnership with the Department of Subaquatic Archaeological Research and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

This exhibition will highlight an exceptional submarine heritage, ranging from the ancient wrecks of the Côte d’Azur to the contemporary vestiges of a former casino which is now missing. The themes relating to the history and contemporary issues of research in underwater archaeology and the preservation of international marine cultural property by UNESCO will also be discussed.

You can admire the technological innovations that allow archaeologists to push the boundaries of underwater exploration. Sophisticated robots, such as "Arthur" Department of Subaquatic Archaeological Research and Submarines, open up new perspectives by reaching depths inaccessible to human divers.

You can also dive into history by exploring remarkably preserved wrecks, from ancient ships to the remains of the Casino de la Jetée-Promenade de Nice. Each artifact tells a unique story of trade, shipping and historical events that shaped our world.

This exhibition highlights the importance of global collaboration in submarine archaeology as part of the work of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It brings together researchers and specialists from all over the world to share their knowledge and discoveries, thus strengthening our collective understanding of the oceans.

Join us for a captivating journey through time and marine depths that invites you to discover the mysteries and wonders hidden under the surface of our oceans.
