Museums
Located in the heart of Old Nice in an old industrial building, the museum offerstemporary monographic or collective exhibitionsthe greatest names of photographyas well as themes presenting all trends in photography.
After 16 years spent in the walls of Artistics, Boulevard Dubouchage, the Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image is installed Place Pierre Gautier, in an old substation and becomes in 2016, the Musée de la Photographie Charles Nègre.
The Museum has an adjoining gallery dedicated toregional photographic creation.
The museum occupies the premises of the former Prefecture substation commissioned in the 1930s for the electric power supply of the district, allowing to turn the AC current to high voltage into a continuous low voltage current. From this time the industrial character of architecture and a former rolling bridge remain.
Since 2018, the museum has been labeled Quality Tourism, the only state brand awarded to tourism professionals for the quality of their reception and services.
