De la Morue - Cartography 6
Writing, staging and interpretation: Frédéric Ferrer.
Between conference and performance, Frédéric Ferrer delivers a questioning and an attempt to answer as funny as it was on the impact of man on our planet. AfterLooking for lost duckss,Vikings and satellites,From the Morueis the sixth mapping of the Atlas of Anthropocene.
From the Morueis presented as part of the Biennale des Arts et de l’Océan, echoing the United Nations Conference on the Ocean (UNOC-3) hosted in Nice in June 2025.
“The cod has shaped for more than five centuries the landscapes and life of human beings, fueled a powerful triangular trade, launched the world economy, founded liberalism, allowed the independence and rise in power of the United States and nourished the spirits and bellies of millions of human beings on all continents. But the cod was too beautiful... and was the victim of his success. This fish, emblematic of the destructive madness of the human species, is gone. The cod is no longer there. And now humans are waiting for him... and despair of his return... But can a cod come back? The question is obviously essential. If the cod comes back, it would be a good news for humanity, finally proof that we can fix our mistakes, that the massive current extinction of biodiversity and living is not inevitable. »
