La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La Cinémathèque de Nice, created in 1976 under the aegis of the French Cinematheque, at the initiative of its founder Henri Langlois, offers regular and eclectic programming of recent films and heritage and organizes meetings and events to allow an exchange of works in the presence of filmmakers, actors, critics and film historians.
The Cinémathèque de Nice also plays an active role in the education of the image and access to the film culture of the young audience, with dedicated school screenings and educational activities in the family or in the school time at its Animation Film Workshop.
Its mission is also to preserve and enhance cinematographic heritage, with the creation of an important collection of films, professionals and amateurs, all formats, and non-film documents.
The Cinémathèque de Nice also regularly offers film events, such as Ciné Récré, the festival of cinema for children or screenings outside the walls during the summer season.
The Cinémathèque de Nice is a member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), Federation of Archives (FCAFF) and Cinematheque du Documentaire.
