Theory of Algiers by Sébastien Lapaque is a close and loving stroll in a friendly city where the writer keeps coming back, renewing an eternal first time, without ever knowing that he is a stranger. The watercolours of Jacques Ferrandez, born in Algiers in 1955, interact with the writer in the alleys he knows well, and adopt the alternating breathing of his wanderings. The memory, the past look at every corner of the street. And two "writings", facing the sea, meet.
