In this stage alone, Estelle Meyer proposes the initiatory narrative of her construction as a woman, from the little girl to the one she has become today. Between singing and theatre, accompanied by two talented musicians, she blends with her own memory those of the great figure of feminism, Gisèle Halimi, and the women she accompanied.
This show is conceived as an intimate, sensitive and concrete, powerful and fragile journey to think of the thousand faces of the female, who today needs to speak.

THE INTENTION

At the death of Gisèle Halimi, I discover, marvelled, his work. This woman is more modern than me! It draws all the human continent from its clearness and fervour. His fight, his way and his forces give me courage. This literary encounter with her, beyond her death, the discovery of her personality and the meeting of the people who have gathered her, then open an incessant dialogue in me: a word, a memory, the urgency of writing, witnessing, reciting, theatre and catharsis. There is in me a whole continent that asks to shout, to sing, to heal, to say. The continent woman.
Estelle Meyer

When Estelle suggested that I accompany her in this portrait project in relation to Gisèle Halimi, Djamila Boupacha and herself, it was an obvious thing for me to follow her. We will play Gisèle but especially with Gisèle, accompanied by our memories and our paths.

LA PRESSE

Led by Margaux Eskenazi, Estelle Meyer handles words as well as music, omnipresent here. Everything at home captivates: its presence, its natural, its poetic power.
Le Canard Enchaîné

Light presence, rocky voice, anchored body, Estelle Meyer is a complete interpreter who serves the language with a love devotion and who sings masterly.

In the rebel songs of Estelle is reflectedFarouche freedomde Gisèle Halimi that she embodies with humour and tenderness that celebrate the place of all possible places where we are together, the theatre.
