Nice Opera
Opera
In 1881 a fire ravaged the royal theatre of King Carlo Felice. A new opera was created by the architect François Aune, disciple of Charles Garnier. It is inspired by the Paris Opera for its eclectic façade. The interior is an Italian room arranged in horse-drawn with its private dressing rooms.
The Saviour?
Freedom illuminating the Promenade des Anglais!
On the dock of the United States, a miniature of the Statue of Liberty stands before the Nice Opera in tribute to Gustave Eiffel. This famous engineer, in collaboration with sculptor Bartholdi, imagines the internal structure of the famous New York statue. He also intervenes on the Nice Opera whose roof was designed with the riveted iron technique.
