Nice, the promenade of the great voices of wagnériennes

Although Nice, at the end of the 19th century, was not the oldest city in France, the lyrical life of the capital of the Côte d’Azur was ahead of its neighbours, during the 20th century, welcoming the first French of Lohengrin in 1881 and the Gold of the Rhine in 1902.
During this century, the beautiful part was reserved for the "sacred monsters" of the Italian opera who were able to make their voices heard. Yet, during the seasons, tours and directors of the Opera, the kings and queens of Wagnériennes came to sing in Nice crowned with bayreuthian successes and triumphing over this Verdian land.
