On the margins of the United Nations Conference on Oceans, the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates the sea by ordering a new work to Yann Robin:Hymn to the Ocean

Work for large choir and orchestra,Hymn to the Oceancelebrates the power of nature through one of the four elements, water. The voices of the Choir, such as the Mermaids, these semi-human creatures of mythology, shout the urgency that is ours. Note thatYann Robinimagined this work on a drawing close to the Bolero deRavel, of which it follows the structure and the dramaturgical trajectory. ButThe Sea, of course also one of the most absolute symphony masterpieces ofDebussy! It was impossible not to pay tribute to these pioneering pages, where the French composer translated into music with such genius the thousand and one colors of the sea. In counterpoint, thePiano concerto n°2deRachmaninov, an oceanic work if it is, will allow us to discover one of the young phenomena of the keyboard: the Czech pianistLukáš Vondráček.
